Fit Life NSB – 'Fit' Beach Day Guide

This 'Fit Beach Day' guide is for anyone hosting or attending a Fit Beach Day. It offers a meeting place / time and activity suggestions so the group can enjoy an active, fun, and social experience together — even without a coach or leader present.

🌴 Purpose of Fit Beach Day

To some of the Fit Life NSB crew together for 1–2 hours of casual, fitness-inspired fun by the beach. It’s about moving, playing, connecting, and enjoying life outside the usual routine. If you can make this your day, hope this meet up makes it better.

When and Where

Goal time = set up by 10am to beat the traffic. Location goal is just south of Toni and Joes (Oakwood Ave). Afternoon for you, ok, 2pm for the 'afternooners.' If its high tide and beach is closed, there may be parking at Detwiler Park.

The Flow

Arrival, greetings, loosen up.

Casual ball games: throw football (run patterns), kick soccer ball, volley, paddle ball, easy warm up stuff etc. Then, move into multiple people games (3v3 etc) (get everyone involved). Move to bigger groups; group Volley, Volleyball, Football, Soccer, SpikeBall etc. If waiting; Go on a run, do jumping jacks, push ups, air squats, burpees etc. Experts help newbies. Keep this going until the hour mark at least.

If someone does want to lead a workout: go for it.

After: Cool down/stretch/mobility; (take photos!) open hangout with music, drinks, and beach chill time (someone teach a line dance, lol).

Send in/post pics!

Enjoy the rest of the day, get creative (share your stuff, within reason, and comfort level).

🏐 Bring anything you have

Football, Soccer ball, Volleyball + net (if available), Spikeball set, Paddle ball rackets + balls etc.

Beach towel or mat for stretching

Bluetooth speaker (for music)

Cooler with water and drinks

Sunscreen, hats, and shades

etc.

Tips for a Great Experience

Don’t stress about it being perfect – just show up and have fun.

Plan you would have a good time even if no one shows up.

You can follow the schedule loosely or just go with the group’s vibe.

Encourage mixing up teams so new people get to meet each other.

Hydrate and take breaks as needed.

Leave no trace – clean up the beach when done.

Food: on your own, maybe something more formal in the future.

Thanks for your patience and being part of the Fit Life NSB movement – stay active, connected, and have a blast! 🌊

Future we hope to get this more ‘official’ and ‘bigger.’
